Yikes! I completely missed the news of the arrest of Rached Ghannouchi in April 2023 and the closure of the Ennahda Party's headquarters. On May 15, 2023, the 81-year old was sentenced to one year in prison and fined under Tunisia's anti-terrorism law for public remarks made at a funeral last year. He also faces other charges for which he has not yet been tried.
Photo description: An elderly Tunisian man with white hair and wire rim glasses sits with both hands resting on a wood table and smiles as he looks off camera. He is wearing a medium blue suit and white dress shirt. On his lapel is a red pin with a red crescent and star inside a white circle (Tunisia's flag). He is sitting in a red chair and there is a man in a dark suit, white shirt, and red tie standing off his left shoulder looking at photos he's taken of the man on a professional camera.
